THE GREAT TOUR

A 65 day circumnavigation of Britian’s coastline by bicylcle

ABOUT THE GREAT TOUR

The Great Tour could easily be described as one of the UK’s last great challenges – a 65 day circumnavigation of Britain’s coastline by bicycle.

The first ever Great Tour was in 2010, and continued every 5 years after until 2021 (delayed a year during Covid).

From 2025 onwards we aim to turn The Great Tour into an annual event and we are planning to start on Saturday 5th July in Bournemouth.

We start the ride in Bournemouth which we hope will become the home of The Great Tour as we are going to be working with Bournemouth University who are to become one of our event partners.

We plan to start the Great Tour on Saturday 5th July and finish on Sunday 7th September, 65 days later.

The people behind the ride are Jacques Sauvagnargues, the creator of LinkmyRide, Jake Fieldsend, developer of BikeBook, and Hugh Roberts, the original founder of the Great Tour.

LinkmyRide is designed to build a community of passionate cyclists and establishes a network of cyclists to join each other on rides.

BikeBook is an online platform that connects bike mechanics across the country into an easy, accessible website for people to find a mechanic.
